Near Whitby there is a lovely beach for families. Sandsend Beach. The sand here is very good, ideal for sunbathing for building sand castles. There are several decent looking cafes bordering the beach. Car parking is available both free roadside and pay and display.
As well as the beach the Mulgrave estate is close by with free access to the woodland.
