If you are fond of:
- Car park that has no marked spaces and costs upwards of £2.00
- Crowds of people taking on the intelligence of zombies
- Dogs on leads that are far too long
- Tiny cafes at almost every turn
- Craft shops selling painted pebbles for £7.00
- A harbour, interesting only when the tide is fully in
- Car drivers who ignore all signs saying residents only driving into the village only to realise there is nowhere to park and having to drive back out
- Shopkeepers who wish they were closed
Then Staithes is the place for you.
The rocks surrounding the bay are Jurassic and there are fossils scattered about. You may even find fossils behind the counter of some of the shops.
On the plus side there is a small but fascinating museum showing the history of Staithes using many photographs and models. They also have some very interesting clocks.
